Clicking the LMB just returns to the game. The only way to load and save games is with the F1 and F4 keys. ANT ATTACK (ZX Spectrum)-------------------------------------------------- CONTROLS: Left,Right - M and SYMBOL SHIFT Forward - V Jump - C Fire Grenades - S, D, F or G (Each key throws grenade a different distance) Change view - 0, P, ENTER and SPACE INSTRUCTIONS: Rescue your partner from a city (Called Antescher, some of M.C.Escher's work was obviously an inspiration for a few of the buildings) infested with ants!!. Once you have chosen the gender of your character, the adventure begins. You have to find and rescue your partner (who is the opposite gender to your character), located somewhere in the (almost) deserted city of Antescher - There are lots of giant ants infesting the city. To rescue your partner you have to move near to him/her, this causes them to wake-up (temporary paralysis, courtesy of the ants), verbally show his/her gratidude, and then proceed to follow you as you move. The ants have other ideas, and will bite you if they come into contact. You can withstand 20 bites before succumbing their poison, and having to start again.... To aid you, there are a number of grenades on your presence, which you can use to defend yourself. Depending on your distance from the ants, you can throw the grenades varying distances. If you are not careful, you can run into grenades if thrown whilst running, thus rendering you incompatible with life and requiring a restart. Throwing them near a wall will make them roll up it, and down on you, with the same result. If you use up all your grenades, you can still paralyse the ants by jumping on their backs (Top tip - you will need to do this to mount the rescue in later levels, to act as a step..) There are not any lives, as such, just a time limit for each level, of which there are 10 levels with your partner being located in gradually more devious places. CHEAT: Insert the following line after breaking into the program with Multiface, or similar: 62 POKE 45164,3:POKE 45165,238 Then RUN the program again, you should have unlimited time. ARMY MOVES (Amiga?)------------------------------------------------------- CHEATS During play hold the following keys for invicibility: ON LEVEL 1 - 'ALT', '1', AND 'D' ON LEVEL 2 - 'ALT', '1', AND 'J' PASSWORDS The password to part two is -_"101069". If this doesn't work try typing "KARENBROADHURST" on the title screen. BARD'S TALE 1, THE (?)---------------------------------------------------- Have you ever wondered what happens to your character when a Vampire or Spectre or something goes and drains a level from him? Well, it's quite neat. You take your character to get healed (11,700 gold) and you are back to normal. However, you have also been given *exactly* enough experience points to go up to the next level. So if you are at level 42 and get drained down to 39, go to the review board after you are healed and you will go up to level 43. Now here's the trick. Equip a warrior with a Spectre Mace (or a hunter with a Mournblade) and go into party attack. Attack each character once, end the attack and heal them all at a temple. Go to the review board and advance everybody. Repeat as necessary or desired. You are basically buying an experience level for 11,700 gold. This can be quite usefel since a high level wizard needs 1,300,000 experience points to go up a level; 11,700 gold is a bit easier to get your hands on. If you can't find a Spectre Mace anywhere, you can cast Spell Spirit and bring a spectre into your party to do the draining. It's a bit slower, but it works. (You have to unequip all of your characters' armor so it can actually hit them). This way is a bit more expensive because you have to cast Beyond Death and Restoration every once and awhile when the spectre gets too excited and kills one of your characters. BARD'S TALE 3, THE (?)---------------------------------------------------- Pressing one of the "F" keys (F1, F2 etc.) brings up the "Cast Spell" list for the corresponding character. However, if a slot is empty, it brings up the spell casting menu of the last character to occupy that slot. So, place your Archmage in slot seven, then remove a character. Slot seven is now empty, so you can press F7 to cast any Archmage spell you like, without wasting spell points (actually, the 'character' that is sitting in that slot has a finite amount of spell points... you just can't see how many there are. Doesn't really matter, when they run out, cast INWO and repeat the above process). It doesn't work in combat, but is handy for just about everything else. BATTLE CHESS 2 (Amiga)---------------------------------------------------- Rules summary: Val Abr Name Move/Capture --- --- ---- ------------ Inf K = King = 1 orthagonal. Cannot leave palace (9 possible positions). Cannot be aligned with enemy king unless other piece(s) is/are interposing. 4 G = Guard = 1 diagonal. Cannot leave palace (5 possible positions). 4 M = Minister = 2 diagonal. Cannot cross river (7 possible positions). 8 N = kNight = 1 orthagonal then 1 diagonally ahead. 18 R = Rook = up to 9 orthagonal 9 C = Cannon = up to 9 orthagonal. Then you lure the monster past the section of the partition that hides your accomplice. That player then communicated with the monster with the monster through the partition (make sure that they are facing it). They then keep clicking on `COMMUNICATE AND RECRUIT' (this is better done using an autofire joystick). You then hack the living daylights out of the monster while your accomplice carries on hacking the living daylights out of the `COMMUNICATE' option. This works with Zendik and the Entropy as well as every other creature in the castle. If you're patient enough, then a good way of starting is to recruit your way through all of the Bloodwych characters taking their belongings, then dismissing them. You can now sell all the weapons you don't want, to end up with about 200 coinage. You will also have a plentiful supply of food and keys, so remember to have only one character carrying the keys to save on backpack space. Usually, the best combination of characters is to have two fighters at the front and two wizards at the back. It's difficult to say which colours are the best, since they all have spells which come in useful fairly often. The yellow Vivify spell is probably the best, but red spells such as Vitalise, Fireball and Firebath tend to be the most frequently used. Note that the first time you use the Vivify spell, you will need about 70 or 80 spell points if the character casting the spell isn't yellow. Any items you come across can be sold to any creature, so long as they're not one of the characters you robbed at the beginning of the game. You can quite easily reach and maintain the maximum of 99 coinage this way. As far as fighting goes, make sure you don't get trapped while using the `hack and step back' method, only to realise that you haven't saved the game for some time. Occasionally it is possible to worm your way out of this situation by using the Confuse and Terror spells and talking to the creature. Keep boasting to it about how great you are and then threaten it. Every now and then the creature will turn and run, but unfortunately this is quite rare. A tip which is used by quite a large number of Bloodwych players is the old `hiding behind the door, technique'. Stand to one side of a wooden door with a creature on the other side and keep clicking on the fight icon until the creature opens the door. Sometimes it is possible to get a hit in from both of your front characters and close the door before the creature hits you. If the creature then opens the door straight away, you don't need to click on the fight icon again. If, however, there is a delay, then you'll probably have to keep hitting it. If you're worried that one of your characters is going to die, then lock the door using Magelock, as it's quite easy to make the mistake of locking the door open if you use a key. With the door locked you can give your characters a rest, allowing them to recuperate and be ready for the next fight. You do this by using Wile E. Coyote-ish methods, such as shoving a rock off the cliff and onto the bandit. The game takes place in a desert (where else?). Hint #1: Don't step too close to those edges!! If you are one step away from an edge, you better just stand still, cause if you try and move, you will fall off instead! Falling off the top edge is ALWAYS fatal! Falling off the side or bottom edges does not always result in your death. On some screens, you will float UP in a parachute (I know, it defies gravity, but so what!). On others, you will float away with the help of your bubble gum. However, the bandit can shoot your bubble, and make you fall back down to your death! Hint #2: You must be positioned exactly right to jump off the edge onto objects such as see-saws, trampolines, etc. In any such case, you will START at the right level, and only have to walk sideways. Hint #3: On the level two screens, watch out for rocks that come back to crush you if you miss the bandit! Hint #4: On many screens, you must move a certain direction at exactly the right moment. (eg. on The Seesaw's Revenge, you must move RIGHT just after you land on the seesaw to jump to the other side and not get crunched by the rock. You must enter the maze from the west and make your way north-east. A cave must also be found. This should take you to the Sunstone. The Sunstone should be used to kill the witch but this might not work. You should be able to kill the witch with any missile weapon as long as you avoid the witch's gaze. After you kill her, you must get the golden lasso in order to ride the Golden Swan. In the City of Azal, you will need the five golden statues. These statues are located in: The Crystal Palace on the Isle of Sorcery, The Battlefield in Grimwood Forest, The Castle south-east of Marheim, The Watch Tower, and Hemsath's Tomb. The best weapon in the game is the sword. The keys to use for different buildings are: White - For old castles and manors Grey -- For the watch tower and buildings in the city of Marheim Red --- For secret entrances Gold -- For the maze in Hemsaths tomb and for the inner chambers of King Marheim's palace Blue -- For the sorceresses keep on the Isle of Sorcery Green - For normal buildings CHEATS: Save your position in the dungeons or caves. Then go through it and open doors until you run out of keys. Now restore your position, and you will have all your keys, but all the doors will still be open. Repeat as often as you need. Go to the dark evil castle. Stand right up against the force field. Let yourself starve so that you faint. When you wake up, you'll be on the other side of the forcefield. Sometimes you can accumulate all the treasure you want by going near the item, press 'SPACE', and then continue hitting "T". You'll receive an infinite supply of that treasure. Find the green turtle, jump on his back and start attacking. Nothing will happen except your bravery points will keep piling up. On the island with the Crystal Castle press 'RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON' while speaking with the sorceress and luck increases to 65. Ask the sorceress several times. If running low on Green keys, use a secret entrance for the fort. It's on the left side, almost even with the door. Beating the Turtle is not beating, it is pushing, so push the turtle across the land, to use it in special places: The turtle was programmed in asbestos, and can swim in Lava. It can be used to enter the black citadel at the south. Also, while it is present, you are not attacked, but by the time one has the turtle, one is already invincible. Don't wait! Line up you ship and start shooting BEFORE the aliens appear. You can usually take out a few as soon as they enter the screen. This is the closest you can get to cheating in this game. You'll need all the help you can get, so do it! 9. Try not to shoot all of the "boss" aliens who line up on the top of the formation. These guys are your key to getting double shots. Be sure to leave one or two alive (unless you already have the double shot, of course). 8. When a boss projects his tractor beam, let him capture you, but ONLY if you have a ship in reserve. Getting captured with no ships in reserve is probably the most humiliating thing that could ever happen to you in your life. Just hope that no one is watching. 7. While the tractor beam is taking your ship, resist the temptation to shoot, as you may inadvertently destroy the boss who's attempting to capture you. On the other hand, if you last ship is being captured, shoot like hell! 6. Once your ship is captured, he's taken back to the formation, where he's vulnerable to your own shots. BE CAREFUL not to shoot your own ship. Another way to lose that ship is to shoot the boss who has your ship while he's still in formation. This is almost, but not quite as embarrassing as #9. 5. You can run, but you can't hide. Stay out of the corners! You may be able to get away with that crap in the early stages, but this cowardly tactic won't work for long. 4. Beware of the scorpions. Late in the game, three scorpions will descend down the screen. Naturally, you'll be tempted to shoot them all for big bonus points. The term for this is "glory seeking", and all too often, you'll take unnecessary risks just to get them. And don't worry if you miss the last scorpion, he'll circle back onto the screen, giving you one last chance. 3. Hopefully youll acquire your double shot before entering the challenge stage. If so, you MUST score a perfect (40/40), or else be ridiculed relentlessly by onlookers. It's tough to make perfect with the single shot, but there's simply no excuse if you have the double. Hey, nobody said life was fair. 2. This rule is based on an interesting phenomenon. It turns out that a single remaining Galaga bug is more difficult to shoot than a whole squad of 15. Scientists have yet to explain this. 1. This rule holds true about 90% of the time. After you've acquired the double shot, you'll probably do quite a bit of damage for a while. But once you lose one of your ships, chances are, the next one will also be gone within only a few seconds (30 max). It all has to do with the demoralization that occurs after losing your firepower. Even veteran players become so upset that they lose their composure. HARD DRIVIN' (Amiga?)----------------------------------------------------- Get the car up to top speed then press 'N' (for neutral). Now you can drive along at top speed with easy steering and invulnerability. At the start, turn the car around 180 degrees. The display should now show the "wrong direction" message. Head off under the bridge until you get to a split in the road. Take the right hand branch and keep going until you reach a checkpoint. Go through and turn the car through 180 degrees until your heading the other way. Go back through the checkpoint in the right direction and you should hear a ping. Keep going to the finish and once under the bridge let the clock run down to zero. You should now get a message saying that you've qualified for the race. HARD 'N' HEAVY (Amiga?)--------------------------------------------------- Lose all your lives till you are on your last one. Now find a gorge (2nd level) and wait till the time is at 01. As soon as the timer hits 1 walk into the gorge. You should get times up and the game will restart, but as soon as it does you will die again. Now it will restart again and you will have 99 lives. There are 5 warps ("warp terminals"). They are on levels 6, 11, 14, 18 and 22. If you lose a life in the bonus "warp level" you'll return to the level you came from. If you get through you'll be moved 4 levels forwards. This means also if you warp from level 22 you'll go back to level 1, because there are only 25 levels. (Commodore 64?)-------------------------------------------------- 1. When choosing nationality, choose english if it's your first game, the others are more harder in sequence(French,Dutch,Spanish)but in different historical periods each has it's own advantages and disadvantages. As for difficulty levels, the more loot you get and the less help from your crew,i think that the governors,Pirate hunters and different nationalitys have better memorys, but dont quote me on this. At the start of the game, when choosing skill it's a toss up between Wit and Charm or Medicine. With Wit And Charm you can charm the Governors daughters, but this only works if you see them regualary,no use if you are at the other end of the map.Medicine will Give you one last trip around the Spanish main. 2. I always choose Port royale to start from(if you choose English as your Nationality You are nearly always at war with Spain, and there's Santiago and Puerto principle to start off with, but the choice is yours.)Have patience on your first voyage you will sometimes get your boat blown to smithereens when approaching an enemy city by sea,or lose most of your men in a land battle, more of the tactics for those situations later. With no experience you will lose land or sea battles due to having too few men,but with no experience(reputation)you cannot get enough men to help you. Joseph Heller anyone(Catch 22). 3. The best way to deal with Sea battles i have found is as follows:- When sighted a boat dont automatically sail away if in friendly waters Or close for battle in enemy waters, chances are you'll make the wrong choice and undo a great deal of work for nothing,so take your time and choose wisely. If you sail out of your first port, hope you meet a pirate hunter.IS HE MAD.No.Because if you win the battle you might get of the enemy's crew to join your's,thereby increasing your chances in subsequent battles, and boosting your reputation. The best way to deal with enemy craft in battles,is to,if close raise sails and go in close(by close i mean about 1-4 boat lenghths away.)Dont forget the mood of your crew (which goes from Happy,Pleased,Unhappy,Angry)can have a bearing on the crews cannon loading in battles. If you cant get to the boat and want it for you're fleet try and disable it with you're cannons, remembering to use battle sails first, try and realise that you cannot fire straight at the boat, your shots will miss if you try and shoot at the ship, aim a little bit in front and that should work. Also if you let a pirate boat go sometimes if you have a large fleet your tail end boat may be captured,so watch out Choose a longsword for battles, good reach and damage. When swordfighting see what the mood of your crew is,strong go in for the kill, shaken go with CAUTION.The fight itself is different matter.I Normally stick to slashes, the higher the rank the faster they attack(and so will you)but its more tricky, much more. The only thing i can say here is to practice, there is a pattern to the attacks from you're opponent so take heart. When you've won the battle youcan take the ship or abandon it.Take my advice, dont put all you're gold in one ship.Plunder anything above a sloop, have 3-4 sloops, and go around the Spanish main in these.Iv'e found that if you have on big ship(above a sloop)it's harder to steer, and fatal to go across reefs.Take what you need from a ship, food is especially handy,if you have a big crew and whatever else.Dont take something, just because you'll get 10 gold more per item, when you're sacking 6 enemies citys,it wont matter, you'll only get 1000- 2000 more gold pieces. The best size crew i have to go looting is about 225,so stick to that,at the end when of a trip when dividing up the plunder have as few as crew as possible, the more crew you have the less money each one will get and think less of you next time. 4. Attacking enemies ports can be tricky so here goes.Always try to attack anywhere apart from the west side,it will turn out to be a slow boat to leogane, cartagena, etc, etc. If the winds are light turn back and try again.Indian attacks will reduce the number of soldiers and nothing else, pirates take the towns gold and damages the economy, malaria cuts down the number of troops in the fort and will slow or even stop the economy, and gold mines turn a poor town into a rich one fairly quickly. If you land near to the city(3 boat lengths away or more)you might take all of the citys gold,or you might not.In land battles try and have more than the fort, then you'll go straight to the fight with the fort's commander. If you dont have enough troops then hide one of of your parties in bushes and lure the forts troops away and past you're hidden party, then take the luring troops off the screen and take the hidden ones to to fort.It is important that you take the flag on the fort to enter it,if it doesnt work try again,it will.If you reduce a city to 1 person left when swordfighting, chances are you'll be able to see off the old inhabitants and insatll a new nationality, this will do no harm when you come to visit a governor for services to your crown(king).Handy eh. 5. In port always visit the governor,no not for his daughter..,just in case he wants you to do an errand for you. These are up to you, sometimes there near sometimes they're not and can make you miss a treasure fleet or such,so you decide And save if you must.Propose to the governors daughter only when you're rich and famous or should that be,anyway if you dont prepare to be humiliated and have cheeks the the same colour of the of the young ladys dress. If playing at higher levels buy information about other cities, because if you check when you first start a game the cities list will be sparse. The old man who offers you a map must be quick on his feet, because if you decide to buy it,3 quarters is missing, another saving oppurtunity methinks. Also if you've done you're share of looting and feel that you might be promoted divide up the plunder first, plan another expedition and then go to see the governor, that way you'll get to know the whereabouts of some cad who's got a map to one of you're family. On this point i can only say to memorize the coastline, isles, and anything else,or you could save the game find one of you're family and restart. After you've found one of you're family they'll give you another map and after you've calmed down you can go and track this down(believe me its worth the effort, worth 4-5 rich cities effort). The family you'll find is,Sister ,Father ,Mother,Uncle. If you do try to sneak into an enemy port you might get seen by a guard,or not served by a Spanish shopkeeper it depends on how rich the city is (Struggling,Surviving,Prosperous,Wealthy) so keep an eye on your crews stomachs, thats how much food you've got letf and be on the lookout for a friendly port. 6. All the ships handle differently, some more slowly than others. Some steer better to 12 o'Clock, some to 9 o'Clock. Don't think that smaller is quicker, could larger be faster? (Amiga)------------------------------------------------------- For infinite lives type 'HEADLIKEAHOLE' on the high score table (do this when you finish a game) and press the ENTER key. You can now also skip levels by pressing the F1-F10 keys. Also press and hold the Shift or Control keys to access the other levels. SINBAD AND THE THRONE OF THE FALCON (Atari ST)---------------------------- Seek out the Shaman first. Find out what animal you need a body part from. Find the Gypsy and get her to give you a charm and also location of the Genie. Find Libitina and get the location of all three idols. (Do not let her possess you, that is only good for learning how to fight.) Keep watch on the city map. The flashing hexes are supply points and you acquire men the longer you stay there. (Up to 51 or so.) When this limit is reached have a smaller group ready to move on that hex and move the larger group off. In this way you will have more men to fight the Black Princes Armies. Protect your supply points but the Castle is the MOST important. Use the Genie only as a last resort. There are three wishes to be granted, if you need him use all you wishes at once, if you don't you'll find out quickly why not! Tips for fighting: Human opponents: Defend and attack low and medium (don't attack high). Animals (Lion, Panther, Lynx): Defend and attack low and sometimes medium. Sasquatch: Defend and attack high. Skeleton: Same as human. Idols: Defend and attack low (without charm from Gypsy you don't have a chance). IDOLS: When you are ready to seek out the idols go for the toughest one first. (Libitina with inform you which the strongest is) When the eye is green click the mouse button on it. If it isn't green then get ready for battle (and pray). Cyclops hints: Keep moving and Practice, Practice, Practice! Shipwreck hints: Keep a sharp eye for men floating usually between rocks, if in doubt as to missing the rocks then leave them alone and go the safest path. If you hit a rock the game is over. Earthquake hints: Try your own strategy but here's mine. Wait until the boulders are close to you to jump to the next ledge (Not too close though). Keep towards the center if you can so as to avoid getting trapped on the edge. SINBAD AND THE THRONE OF THE FALCON (Amiga?)------------------------------ As you are about to die select the close icon, then continue. You'll be as good as new and back at the map. VISIT SHAMAN ON WEST CONTINENT SPACE HARRIER 2 (Amiga?)-------------------------------------------------- Press 'P' to pause the game and type "BREAKFASTINBED". Now unpause the game and infinite lives are yours. The following does not work on all versions: On the high score table, enter your name as "SPOT" for infinite lives. If you look at disk two, you'll see some files called LEVEL2.DAT (for example). If you rename THEEND.DAT (or whatever it's called) to LEVEL1.DAT, you will see the end sequence without playing the game! STRIP FIGHTER (Amiga)----------------------------------------------------- In the options, enter "DILDO" as your name to play against the secret player. SYNDICATE (Amiga?)-------------------------------------------------------- Try typing these codes as the company name on the configuration screen. NUK THEM = Start in any country you want. OWN THEM = You own all the countries. MARKS TEAM = Everything on your team is the best also cyborgs and research. WATCH THE CLOCK = Time flies by. Very useful for researching your weapons etc. ROB A BANK = $10 Million In your account! TIMERUNNER (Amiga)-------------------------------------------------------- On level 1, unlit lamps can be touched to open secret doors in the adjacent bookcases. ULTIMA UNDERWORLDS (MS-DOS?)---------------------------------------------- At the Ankhs speak the following Mantras for advancing in Skills: Mantra or Chant Skills that become higher Summ Ra Fighting Skills Mu Ahm Magic Skills Om Cah Practical Skills Ra Attack Un Appraise Hunn Charm Lu Search Lon Repair Sahf Tracking Anra Defense Ora Unarmed Combat Ono Swimming Fal Acrobatics New Spell not in manual: Ylem Por (Walk Water). VENDETTA (Amiga)---------------------------------------------------------- The best weapons are obviously the guns but keep a constant eye on ammunition levels. There's plenty of extra ammunition around but it can be used up rather quickly if you get into trouble. Avoid using grenades, they take too long to achieve a result (leaving you very vulnerable) and lack a heavy destruction capability. Ignore the timer as the tips should get you through each level with plenty of time left. LEVEL 1 - The Dockland Warehouse. On the first level you're given a fairly easy ride with all the objects in each screen highlighted by a flashing cross on their position. This is level one feature only to get you started. after this level follow the instructions. As soon as you start draw your KNIFE and kill the guard on the first screen, go to the flashing cross and pick up the WIRE CUTTERS. Next kick down the door and enter the room with the guns. Again, kill the guard and watch him explode then go to the flashing cross and get the GRENADES (you can collect 3 in all). Now go to where the next cross flashed and pick up the KALASHNIKOV AK-47. Go to the position where the final cross flashed and pick up the AMMUNITION to load the gun with bullets. Leave the room and kill the guard with your newly acquired gun, go to the next screen and kill the next terrorist. Now go to the next screen and kill the baddie. Change to fists and go up the ladder and kick in the door, change to gun before going in. Shoot the terrorist inside and swap back to fists and pick up the RED VIDEO TAPE, the MAP and the FLOPPY DISK. Go through the next door with gun armed and kill the next terrorist. Pick up the BLUE VIDEO (!) TAPE (by the table with the phone on it) and then the COMPUTER CODE BOOK (by the filing cabinets). Activate the Code Book with your camera and go to the computer to bring up the computer code (it should be an 8 digit binary code). Now activate the floppy disk on the computer and enter the code you saw to receive the F-40 WEAPONS ARMING CARD. From here go to the next room, kill the man and pick up the UZI. Progress to the next room, kill the terrorist and get the UZI AMMUNITION and the CAR KEYS. Go to the VCR and enter each video tape in turn into the VCR (the false tape will show the System 3 logo, the real tape will show the daughter's face and serve as evidence for the police). Enter the next room, kill the mad mullah and pick up the NECKLACE by the mattress and now return the way you came, killing all in your path (top up your ammo if you need to as you go back). Once outside the warehouse climb down the ladder (swapping to gun as you go down), kill the terrorist and enter the final screen where the F-40 awaits. As soon as you enter this screen head as fast as you can for the final guard and kill him (you've got to be quick as he can really dish out the punishment). Now rest to recover lost energy and pick up the BODY ARMOUR. To finish the level go up to the F-40 and stand just behind the door, turn in the car's direction and press FIRE. If you've followed the instructions the F-40's door will spring open and you'll be roaring down the road to the first driving section. LEVEL 3 - The Army Barracks From here you don't get the flashing cross to locate objects. Follow the instructions to find them! Straight away choose either gun and blast the terrorists hanging around at the top of the screen. Change to fists and kick down the door. Kill the man inside in the usual, violent manner and go to the desk with the computer on it and get the RANSOM NOTE. Go to the table with the chair by it and get the HANDBAG and now go to the filing cabinet and get the MAP. Draw your gun and leave the room to kill yet another man. Enter the next screen and run straight for the man and shoot him before he shoots you (the body armour comes in real handy here). Rest to recover energy immediately after the shoot-out. Ignore the door on that screen, there's nothing in there. On the next screen with the terrorist in the sandbag trench stand next to the wall so that you have one foot out of the shadow and throw a grenade. This should dispose of the man but if this fails you can run up to him and blast him with the Uzi or AK-47. Have a rest to recover energy (and pick up some ammo from behind the white barrel if you want) and then run onto the next screen, blasting away to kill the next terrorist by the tank and up through the boxes to the next screen. Kill the terrorist and collect the extra body armour from near the boxes if need be. Go through the door to pick up the extra ammo if you want and then head up the path to the next screen, waste the dude there and enter the bunker. By the mattress there's the shoes of the daughter so pick them up for evidence. Now leave the bunker, bump off the re-risen terrorist and head down the path past the wire fence. You'll now reappear next to the F- 40 so kill the guy there if you want, stand next to the Ferrari behind the fence and press FIRE to get in the car and zoom to the second driving scene. LEVEL 5 - The Airport You'll be pleased to know that the flashing crosses have returned for this level so follow the crosses and you should be alright. Even though you near the end, things get a little easier although time is running out and there's a deadly surprise at the end of the level. Select a gun and blow away the terrorist. Kick down the door, re-select the gun and kill the guy inside. Go to the filing cabinet behind the door and pick up the DISGUISE (all guards will now ignore you as you become invisible). Pick up the body armour if you wish too. Go back out of the room and run through the black doors into the hangar (the only items to be collected on this level, apart from the map, are extra ammunition so collect if need be). Go through the first room killing the terrorist, then the next doing the same thing (there's ammo behind the boxes if you need it) and then through the next room in the hangar, blast the terrorist and now you'll come to a yard with one man and a windsock in the corner. The next screen is the aircraft where the daughter is held hostage on board. Blast the guard and go up the ladder, shoot straight away once inside the plane as the invisibility will be wearing away by now. Go through the plane shooting the guards and you should come to the cockpit. Blast the final terrorist and pick up the MAP in the corner. Now activate the WIRE CUTTERS (remember them?) and pick up the BOMB next to the girl. Now clip the wires in the following order - MIDDLE (Red), LEFT (Yellow) and then RIGHT (Blue). You've now rescued the girl. Stand up and you'll automatically go to the final car driving scene, no need to go back to the car which is rather handy. LEVEL 7 - Central Park The final level and strangely things are getting very easy indeed with all of five screens between you and the end. Select a gun and waste the guy on the pavement. Now go through the gates and follow the screens right to the end wasting EVERY terrorist you meet. When all are dead return to the statue where you'll see your brother, the Professor, crouch down next to his head and pick him up. Prof. stands up, gives you the briefcase and you've completed the game! The end screen shows a newspaper headline from the Daily Trumpet of you having defeated the terrorists! The computer goes wild, cycling through your inventory of objects and weapons and your energy level goes up and down like a yo-yo. And all while an ace piece of music plays along as your reward for all that manic blasting action. DRIVING SECTIONS - LEVELS 2,4,6 . On these levels in between exploration and blasting you have to drive to the next section using the F-40's weapons to fend off enemy cars and helicopters while finding the correct route through to the next section in time. On these levels it's best to have a friend activate the keyboard controls (missiles etc.) due to the great speed and concentration needed. Each driving section progresses through 3 stages - grass, desert and snow - before arriving at a destination. All the levels use the same tactics. * Keep as central to the road as possible as it is very easy to lose control. On the bends pull back and left or right to avoid skidding. * Do not worry if you forget to pick up the map as the car automatically heads for the correct fork in the road. * Use the turbo after forks in the road and on straights (following a lot of bends). * Keep the ground guns on for most of the section as the helicopters are fewer in between and don't drain your energy or slow you down so much. The gunships come in groups of 2 or 3 together so keep your missiles armed upon destroying one before switching back to guns. * Hitting other vehicles slows you down (this is another reason for having ground guns on for much of the time) * Be prepared for vicious bends after going over hills. Use the brakes a lot. If you do spin off the road decelerate as you regain control quicker. * Constant use of the turbo keeps the police lagging behind but if they catch up with you make sure you have ALL the evidence from each level otherwise it's curtains.
